This was my favorite out of the trilogy. I wanted to rate it 4.5 stars, but I feel the need to dock half a star because I don’t think the series belongs in the LGBT genre. There are queer characters, but mere representation doesn’t rise to belonging to the genre. There are so many books that could be considered LGBT that have no business there if that’s the standard. Otherwise, I really enjoyed the final book much more than the first two. The characters connected emotionally on the level that was initially lacking. Definitely would recommend to those looking for a fantasy sci fi read that also feels like literature.

This sort of felt less like a story and more like a supplement designed to quickly answer the questions posed by the previous 2 books and tie up all the loose ends. It definitely didn't carry the emotional resonance of the previous two books, but the answers delivered were satisfying and I did think the resolution was fulfilling, if not a little optimistic relative to the tone of the rest of the series.

Honestly think this was the best of the three. The discussion of genocide here is not long, or deep, but crystal clear and with all the denial out there in our real world it felt good to have it spelled out so simply. It is that simple though. It's the wrongest, but people do it anyway and convince themselves it was right. The expected mother-daughter-moon confrontation had some cool surprises. I loved the stone eaters back story, and "evil earth" got a bit more dialog without being anthropomorphisized ... is that a word? This is a great series.

It’s an extremely well written and beautiful book with messages that need to be shared and understood. The fantasy world was great. This book however was slow, and I struggled to get into it compared to the other two. I think listening to this series on audio is not the best. I wouldn’t do it again. I feel like I missed too many details on audio. And the book is already really confusing. But what NK Jemisin has done here is really amazing.

Me gustó mucho el desenlace de esta gran trama interconectada en el tiempo y el espacio, conocer sobre todo aspectos del pasado que acabaron siendo muy relevantes para el futuro del mundo y de los personajes.
Sin embargo, siento que Jemisin tenía quizá un poco de prisa en acabar esta historia: resta importancia a la muerte de ciertos personajes, los reencuentros son muy rápidos respecto al ritmo que llevaban otros capítulos, el final deja algunas cosas sin explicar ni siquiera a pinceladas...
Aun así, me dio mucha pena llegar al final y saber que ya no hay más, que este mundo no se expande en otras mil páginas.
