OMG! This book is such crap. The narration of the audiobook is dreadful.
Very unnatural feeling relationship. The ending felt forced, the conflict was blown out of proportion, and the love that the characters say they feel for each other is never illustrated to the depth they claim to feel.
Also, was there a point to the two scenes where the ex-boyfriend shows up?

Needs and Fantasies

I like how Gracie Evans and Luke Forsythe's story came along. Even though eavesdropping isn't cool, I really can't argue with the smoking hot results! Once the gears are in motion, their story is like a runaway train, moving very quickly. I do love that Luke realizes exactly what he wants and isn't afraid to buck convention to get it.
Yeah, I can imagine being rocked between Wes and Luke would do that to any girl. If they're looking for volunteers, sign me up!

She screamed. She couldn't help it. She'd never ever had such a powerful orgasm, and it scared and thrilled her all at the same time.

The plot was... ehhhhh... what do I say ... Okay-ish...okay it hardly covered the mark of being okay ... It was hot ofcourse but that's about it ...

Hot but honestly why did I think trying Maya Banks again was a good idea. If there weren't such a dearth of MMF menage books I swear. It feels like reading a vanilla cishet person try to write kink. I think my favorite part was when the 2nd guy told the 1st guy (and I'm paraphrasing here) that he'd "have to be gay not to be interested" in a threesome with 1st guy and the main girl (grace? gracie? I don't even care).
2 stars.
Listened to this on audio book.
The narration was fine, I didn't hate it but didn't love it.
Full disclosure, I'm not usually a fan of novella's unless they are in a world that I already know and love. And even when I love that world and the author, I rarely give over 3.5 stars on the story.
So this story was also fine for about 3/4 of the way through. Gracie breaks up with her boyfriend Keith? then while over at her friends house (with a bunch of their other friends) she mentions that Keith was just not for her in the sex department. And worse when she did try to approach him about what she was into (nipple rings, bondage, spanking a bit of dom/sub and menage) he freaked out and started calling her names.
Well, while she's telling her reasons to her girl friend, Michelle? I think that's who it was, Luke, another long time friend of hers, overhears this and starts to see Gracie as more than just a friend.
I thought him looking at her differently and just trying to get Wes to get in on his menage idea with Gracie was a little fast but it didn't bug me. This was shaping up to be a fine short story, it was nothing that would stick with me for better or worse. But it was going to be decent read/listen.
Then the last little chunk just a.) gave me whiplash b.) annoyed me and c.) confused me. When That whole ending was so abrupt and quick especially when I didn't feel like either character had any romantic chemistry with each other, that it just dragged this story for me.

Gracie overhears Luke and Wes talking, I thought she really overreacted. I get being ticked off but storming off and staying missing for hours was over the top. Then when Luke asked Gracie to marry him. WHAT?! They've only been going out for a week. Yes, they've been friends for years but a friendship relationship is different than a romantic one.
This was wrong and bad in many ways, but for a 3 hour audiobook (I hated the narration though, it was awful, to be honest) I guess you get what you get. It was definitely a quick mini-read.
Gracie is tired of having bad sex with her boyfriend so she dumps him 2 weeks before Valentine's Day. While talking about her sexual desires with her best gal pal, one of her bro-friends overhears. Of course, he decides he's going to give it to her good. This will include instantly falling into love, some spanking, some sex, and then inviting a second male friend into the bedroom for some menage-a-trios action.
If you don't mind spoilers: Flash forward to two weeks later and it is Valentine's Day and of course her now amazing lover and friend proposes and she says yes. Of course, this is just terrible, terrible fiction.
The pros: It is quick, a light read that is fun if you're in the mood for a sexy read but don't want to invest too much time, and it features a menage scene.
The cons: The narration (audio book) should be avoided at all costs, it is super corny, dorky, and unrealistic...
