The book started fine, middle was also fine, all the way up to the last like 30 minutes of the book it was totally fine. Especially from such a short book I wasn’t expecting exceptional writing, or a flushed out plot and characters but the THIRD ACT THROUGH THE END RUINED THIS BOOK. I’m sorry but the fact they kept it from her, when he easily could’ve brought it up when he asked her about her fantasies, also that she STOLE HIS CAR and drove home BAREFOOT? It was already teetering on 3 starts regardless of my low expectations. And then the sudden love and MARRIAGE? Marriage??? WHAT. No. Absolutely not. Only reason it’s not 1 star is because I did generally enjoy it (again it was FINE) up until she overheard them.
I borrowed it from the library, as an audio book. I wasn't expecting it to be so short. Nor was the writing, I'm my opinion, very good. Maybe I'd have felt different if I had borrowed the book instead of the audiobook. But we shall never know.

Was this a great story, no. But it was pretty good. On the short I would give it 3 star as a romance. It is friends to lovers, invite a friend, hot sex, fall in love. It is under 100 pages. Kindle says 95 but felt like 65, so a real building of characters and relationship and what will happen next doesn't happen. But they are built enough to feel a connection between the characters and appreciate the erotic, spanking, flogging, and hands behind the back. Kinky not BDSM.

I think I"m going to call this a 2.5 star. What bothered me the most about this story was when Gracie found out that Luke had overheard her discussion with Michelle and used that information to put together a weekend for her, she ran back to Michelle's house and she has to have this embarrassing discussion with Michelle *and* her husband? I mean if this whole group are all in some larger relationship fine, but if you're embarrassed about your fantasies or whatever Gracie was upset about, do you think having a guy hang around and listen, whether he's friends with you or not, would make her any more comfortable? This is my second Maya Banks book and both have been pretty similar. Both pretty much throwaway "romances". I like shorter books but I think I'd be wasting my time reading any more.

I think the audiobook narrator’s fake southern accent threw me off. the fact that the were only dating for a month before he proposed was dumb too
