The second book in the series and I was FINALLY able to read it! dances Witches, strange woods, sap-squatches, and more!

For some reason book 1 and 3 are easily found, but book 2? Nope. It took me until February 2023 before I could get the book from another Amazon/a seller on Amazon. Almost 2 years after I read the first book!

Thankfully, despite it being almost 2 years I could just step in the book! And this book was packed! A lot is happening. We see that the hotel is still wandering around, Warren is getting more and more in his role (though I would really recommend that he gets some help, it is very noble he tries it all himself… but some reparations are best left to peeps who know what to do). All seems quiet. But then things happen thanks to one article in the newspaper. Yep. Just one article. Remember the witches from the next time? And remember that Beatrice, a renowned witch huntress, is at the hotel and protecting it? Well, the queen witch is really interested in that one. You can think of many reasons why. And so the book gets really exiting especially when we at a mimic, witch battles, a spooky forest that whispers in the night, a sap-squatch, and so much more. There was just not a moment to rest and I just flew right through the story.

I loved that we didn’t just get to see Warren’s POV, but also got others. Those who read the article (the witches and others), the mimic, Petula. It was great fun to see things also from other people’s eyes and see what they were planning on doing.

And I loved that Warren, despite all that happens in the book, is brave and courageous and dedicated to helping out his friends and save the hotel. I just love seeing him plan and go for it. How he gave everyone a chance and how at times his hospitality mode arrived at some unexpected moments. For a young boy he is quite wise. I was just rooting for Warren and hope that he was able to keep up the positivity and that he stays safe.

Petula also has a good role in this one and I loved it. She is still learning about witch hunting and well, there are some big things happening for her that made me happy and cheer.

The witches are terrifying, that queen you don’t want to mess with her. I still think it is funny that you can capture a witch in a bottle. Though I also think of the consequences should those bottles break. I hope that Beatrice has all the right safety stuff around it.

What more. Oh, of course, the illustrations! They were once again wonderful and I love that the theme corresponds with the cover, in other words, green inside as well!

The ending made me gasp, smile, laugh, giggle. It was a great ending and I definitely will have to get the third book ASAP! I would highly recommend this book and the first one to all! Magic, mayhem, and a hotel that you would love to visit (well, I would).

'Warren the 13th and the Whispering Woods' by Tania del Rio and illustrated by Will Staehle is the second book in the series about a young hotel owner.

Warren's hotel is on the move and the guest are happy, until suddenly it falls over sideways new the Malwoods. Warren looks for a solution and gets replaced by an evil double who realizes he could sell the hotel to evil witches. Warren is now running to catch his hotel and making odd friends along the way.

I liked this second volume in this odd series. The characters and predicaments are fun as are the illustrations. I can't wait to find out what happens next.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Quirk Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

Although I don't find it as entertaining as the first book, it's still a great palette cleanser between heavier books.  And definitely great for its actual age demographic.

Warren, Uncle Rupert, Petula, Mr. Friggs, Chef Bunion, Sketchy, and Beatrice are back. This book does pick up from the first one but not to worry as you can still read this book having not read the first one. However, I can tell you that after reading this book you will want to go back and read Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye.

The characters that author, Tania has created for this series is great. They are all diverse but that is what makes them so great. Each one brings something fun to the story. Although, Uncle Rupert is just a big child in an adult's body. There were some super stars in this book. Petula, Mr. Friggs, and Sketchy all got more leading roles this time. It was nice to see Petula having that lead role. I got to know her better and she had a few new surprises this time. Of course, everyone loves Sketchy.

Additionally, this book took the readers outside of the hotel and introduced some new villains and friends. I can't wait to see what new grand adventure the gang encounter in the next book. Warren is a loveable hero. Warren for president!

Warren is back and this time there is even more adventure! This book continues the tradition of the wonderful illustrations throughout his travels. This time Warren has to solve the clues to figure out the truth about what is going on around him.

I enjoyed this book and I appreciated the vivid descriptions.

First I need to say thank you to Quirk Books for giving me a copy of Warren the 13th and The Whispering Woods in exchange for my honest review.

I have to admit I've been super excited for this since I read the first book, Warren the 13th and the All-Seeing Eye, and there was a mention of a sequel. My excitement was only doubled after I finally got to see the cover. Honestly, I can't decide which cover is my favorite. It was even better when I was given a chance to support the release back in January, and dedicated my first free afternoon to reading The Whispering Woods. I didn't want anything to get in the way.

The story takes place just short while after The All-Seeing Eye ends, and all of the characters return for the next adventure at the Warren. Sketchy is my absolute favorite of all the cast! I was excited to see him have a decent roll in the second book, instead of pushed aside. He's so cute and precious! There are also a handful of new characters joining the Warren, and a new enemy looking to make the famous walking hotel her own.

While this series is clearly aimed for a younger reader, I fully enjoyed it! Sometimes I want a story that entertains me. A book that is light and fun. For me I feel like this book does that. The story is full of adventure, puzzles, and mystery. It's about being afraid, only to be brave and to keep going anyway. Warren the 13th is about family.

As for the story itself I felt like it moved at a steady pace and never once really backed tracked, or slowed to a crawl. Our main characters are forced to split up and for a while the point of view jumps between them, but it wasn't hard to keep track of the story as it went along.

The world that Tania del Rio created in the first books has been expanded to see more of the country side as the Warren is finally up and walking with it's guests. Which means we get a few new characters and a wider look at the world of Fauntleroy. It was nice to see an expansion and get a taste of how far Warren could take his hotel.

Of course I have to mention Will Staehle's artwork. I love that each book has a theme color, green for this book. Will Staehle's art brings a visualization to the story that I love. I don't think it takes away from the story. In fact I think it adds a little something getting to see the posters, the maps, and even the character as the story evolves.

I really can't thank Quirk Books enough for sending me this to read. It was a wonderful afternoon curled up in my blanket nest with the Little Monster (my cat). I've already talked a friend into buying these for her daughter! I've geeked out over the last few days with my other friends who read. Honestly I can't stop recommending this to people.

Just remember: BEWARE THE SAP-SQUATCH!

Buy, Borrow, or Skip: Seriously, buy both of them! Buy one for a friend! DO IT!

Tania del Rio does it again!!! I absolutely loved the second book in this series. The right mix of funny and suspense. The perfect dose of quirky and silly. I really wish Tim Burton would get on this series and make it a movie ASAP.

I really wasn't blown away by this book and I didn't have as good a time as I did with the first book. I think what I found so interesting and exciting about the series was the moving hotel but the hotel wasn't really so much the focus in this book. And while I do enjoy the characters, I wasn't really loving the plot. I thought there was so much more that could have been done to the story to really amp up the wow factor (give me more witches! more magic! get spooky!). So I didn't love this but I also didn't dislike it either. Again, the characters are great and I am obsessed with the design of this series. Warren is a lovable underdog and his friends (mostly Sketchy) are delightful and fun. The story is mostly what didn't click for me, still give it a read if for no other reason than to look at awesome book design.

Tak toto sa k jednotke ani nepriblížilo. A bolo to viac také... detské. Akože hej, je to detská knižka, ale jednotka bola taká, že mohla zaujať aj starších čitateľov.
