Really good story!

I liked this book a lot! It kept me very entertained. I took off a star bc I felt it was a bit one dimensional. I think it could have been even better with a bit more drama and angst.

First off can I say how much I love this synopsis? It totally reminds me of When Harry Met Sally. I didn't actually read the synopsis until after I read the book and then I thought this is just perfect for this story. Light and fun and cute and everything.

Alice has just moved to Charleston. She has had a pretty sheltered life since her mom is a bit much and she has finally gotten away to try and do things she has always wanted. She wants to experience as much as she can because she wants to live. She is the new flight instructor for Boeing and super smart and I really like Alice. She is one of those characters I wish I knew in real life. She knows tons of random facts and trivia, googles everything, and she is just a lot of fun.

Rafe is a minor league baseball player, but this is his year. Everyone knows it. He is a bit of a player, but when he sees Alice she intrigues him. At first he just wants to sleep with her, but after she says no and tries to keep him firmly in the friend zone things start to change. Because she likes him, she knows it, he knows it, and he starts to really like her as well. His best friend keeps telling him now is not the time to start something because he could be leaving any day when he gets signed to the big leagues, but he can't help it. He knows Alice is special and will be worth it if they can figure everything out.

These two were a lot of fun to watch. Alice is a hoot. She is so...the situations she gets herself into were kind of hilarious. Like her first time parasailing. Oh man it is a good thing Rafe has a good sense of humor or this story would be much different. Really I think that is what I loved the most about this book - Alice could be a bit crazy, but Rafe was wonderful with her. He knew how to show her she is important and make her feel special. Even when they have a fight he still realizes he was a bit too harsh and is wonderful. I loved these two and this was way more fun than I expected (baseball is not the sport for me so I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy this one). I can't wait to read more from this author now.

I was really excited to read this because everyone else loved it and I especially love baseball romances. However this just didn't work for me. I couldn't get into to main character. She is supposed to be a nerd full of random info but she just comes off as ditzy (both Penny Reid and Cambria Hebert have done nerds so much better). I did like the dialogue between Alice and Rafe and their chemistry was fantastic. I didn't care for any of the secondary characters and down right hated the friend Kristina. Overall this was just meh.

Nothing minor about this book!

Kate Stewart amazes again. This was such a fun yet has all the feels kind of book. It was funny to the point I almost had accidents just like Alice with how much I laughed! Very well written sports romance.

I honestly didn't expect much from this book. The prologue was interesting and that's what I was after.
I wasn't invested in the beginning and Alice kept my interest. Her character was so damn interesting: the way she kept popping useless facts and her addiction to googling.
(I am a bit like that.)

When Rafe came around, things got a little heavy and hot.
There was that awkward pause right around 75% of the book due to the rift in friendships.

But it was a pretty much a smooth sailing after that. There were some moments where I damn near felt tears...(yeah,I did...true story.)

That epilogue was straight out of a movie though.

For fans who love sports romance with a dash of comedy will have to read this one.
