As always, I enjoy these books. I listen to them as audiobooks, and although I'm still new to this media, I'm "better" at listening to them intently (instead of just noise in the background). This one concentrates on a murder of an agony aunt in a women's magazine with a side plot involving silk, stolen art, and pirates. As always, a fun, fast and cosy read.

Well, speak of the devil. This is totally Phryne's [b:Murder Must Advertise|351559|Murder Must Advertise (Lord Peter Wimsey Mysteries, #10)|Dorothy L. Sayers|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1389232617s/351559.jpg|1459650], if only Harriet Vane had been kidnapped by pirates while Peter was churning out advertising copy. Still enjoyable, though.

Writing this review, two short days after finishing the novel, I had to wrack my brain to get some details, like the who and the dunnit. I don't think that's a particularly good sign and confines my review to the lower end of the main sequence of book rating.

The murder does happen in "Wee Nooke", a delightful nod to the country cottage in [b:Joy in the Morning|9928818|Joy in the Morning (Jeeves, #8)|P.G. Wodehouse|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1381744220s/9928818.jpg|768371], but that cottage was burned to the ground by an idiotic boy scout within moments of its introduction, and nothing nearly as exciting happens in this one. And while it was exotic to have pirates and an auriculectomy, and to see our protagonist pledge to go to the ends of the earth to rescue her lover, this particular thread disappoints a bit in its pat conclusion.

When I eventually reread this series, I will likely pass lightly over this entry, but the completist should have a go.
