Dit was zeker een onderhoudend boek. Maar net als Lessons is het een terugblik naar de recente geschiedenis en wat voor effect het op de hoofdpersonen heeft. Nou, hier zitten ze vooral voor de tv naar het koningshuis te kijken. Daar wordt een republikein natuurlijk niet vrolijk van. Maar serieus, als je de engelse geschiedenis sinds de tweede wereldoorlog wilt beschrijven aan de hand van een familie die in de chocola (Cadbury's) werkt, waarom gaat het dan vooral over Elizabeth en Diana? Heeft Margaret er niet een zooitje van gemaakt? OK, Boris komt ook langs, maar Europa en Brexit spelen maar een kleine rol. Vanaf het continent is dat een beetje vreemd, of is dat juist de boodschap?

I foundpdy of the book okay. Not bad, but nothing amazing either. The ending gave another half star as I found it quite moving and heartbreaking... What a cruel end to Mary's life.
