One of my favorite books ever. Up there with Stephen King's The Stand, this book is a post-apocalyptic story about good vs evil and mankind's redemption. A good "yarn", I've read this book over and over again, and enjoy it just as much each time.

Good book, a bit long winded but enjoyable.

A favorite end of the world book. It aligns with Kings The Stand in some ways but only in base structure. I loved this book and feel it’s better written than The Stand was. The Good va Evil is well played and the cast of characters interesting and some of them quite deplorable.

The magical/supernatural elements are important but I feel like the human factor is so much more important.

I have mixed feelings about this book. Some characters (Josh) were awesome, while others (Swan) felt a bit cookie cutter. The #1 thing this book had going for it which accounts for why I rated it so high was because it was over 900 pages and at no point was I bored or considered DNFing. I think the plot was not great, as it felt like two very distinct stories happening in the same world that came together in the end in a way that felt a bit forced. The ending with
God (president) and the mountain felt a bit weird and wasn't my favorite
. To me, this book didn't feel like it was about good vs. evil but more about good and evil and the nature of corruption. Which I thought was very much a positive, because it could've just felt like The Stand part 2 and it didn't, they feel like their own (relatively) unique novels.

This book was good but it could've been great.
