This book was highly recommended to me by almost everyone ha. I have to say I was very underwhelmed. It started out very strong, even gave me nightmares (which I loved) but it got real boring quickly and the ending was pretty flat and messy. Remind you this book was 856 pages long and took me over a month to finish. I recommend this be consumed on an E-device or audio.

It's like a rougher, less-polished version of 'The Stand.' The characters don't feel fully fleshed out, the plot is a bit too driven by magical deus ex machinae, and it veers a bit too far into outright fantasy for my tastes. Nonetheless, an interesting read with some genuinely disturbing elements.

Not what I thought it was going to be....

Wow. This was the aLOOOOONNNNGGGEEESSSSTTTTT book I've ever listened to - just about 35 hours!!! At first I tried reading it but it was dull reading, then I noticed that I had the audible version attached to the kindle version so I started listening. So much better. This book was NOTHING like I thought it was and I'm glad I stuck it through and listener. So very different than what I normally read. A beautifully told story of war and destruction.
