I was a little worried that parts of this book would drag due to the length, but I got invested right away. I did find the villain a little silly, but it didn't take away from my enjoyment.

Overall, not bad. Good, but certainly not great. There was absolutely no reason--plot, character development that this book should have been 800+ pages. It was just filler pages.

Mule was my favorite character. Why did the Devil remind me of Gob from Arrested Development?

It reminded me a lot of Stephen King's The Stand, and the books do have some similarities. The Stand has an evil man looking to sow destruction after a plague wipes out most of the country with some salvation in Kansas. Swan Song has Death/the Devil looking to sow destruction after a nuclear war/nuclear winter wipes out much of the country with salvation beginning in Kansas. Anyways, it was a book where I continuously wanted to know what happened next.
