I find it quite hard to rate the book, if i could i’d give it a 2.5. It provides an interesting picture of feminism of early 1900s, yet in plain sight there lies all the shortcomings of first wave feminism. interesting read as a sign of the times from a woman’s perspective, yet does not have much use for contemporary critical theory. The Yellow Wallpaper > Herland
I listened to an audio version of this story via CraftLit. Herland was unfamiliar to me before, but you may recognize the author from "The Yellow Wallpaper" fame.
Imagine a feminist utopia that three men stumble upon, and you have the premise for Herland. Being written in 1915, before women had the right to vote, leads to some interesting conversations and scenarios. Not my favorite by any stretch (and at times dull), but I don't regret listening to it.

Loveddd it. Can't believe it was actually written a century back! Still stands so true in a very patriarchal society. I just wish people could actually see that. The world would be a better place if they did see it.
The historical context of when this book was written. adds so much more to the experience when reading. Wonder woman the comic took huge influence from this book. Definitely recommend.
