I started the book confused, moved on to slightly less confused and mildly interested in the story, less confused again and even less interested in the story, and then ended questioning the entire first 80% of the book and confused once again. The characters were mediocre, the pacing wasn’t quite right, and the complete shift of character actions at the end seemed really disconnected to the rest of the story. It was ok, but I didn’t really like it.
