After a disappointing performance at the battle of the bands, The Archies are thinking of calling it quits when Sabrina gives Archie a Ramones record. Upon listening to it, the gang finds themselves wisked back to 1976 and face to face with the Ramones. Can the Ramones turn the Archies into a great band?

The Ramones were the first punk band I really liked and I buy pretty much any Archie crossover so I couldn't avoid this one.

Alex Segura and Matthew Rosenberg drive the car on this one. After arriving in the past, the Archies choke at another battle of the bands and the Ramones send them on a scavenger hunt to turn them into the best band in the world. It's a fun, light story, as expected.

Gisele Legace handles the art chores on this. Her art has a noticeable manga influence, making the results look unique among the Archie books I've read lately. I'd prefer Dan Parent on art but he can't draw all of the more traditional Archie books.

These Archie crossovers lean on Sabrina pretty hard, don't they? It made me feel as ancient as a stegosaurus when Mister Weatherbee and Archie's dad were teenagers in 1976. It was really cool seeing the Ramones in a comic and catching all the references in the Ramones scavenger hunt was really cool.

Archie Meets the Ramones falls between Archie Meets Kiss and Archie Meets the B-52s on the Archie crossover spectrum. 3.5 out of five stars.
