I was not ready for this book to end! And to be candid, I am a little peeved about the cliff hanger.

Leigh Bardugo writes amazingly diverse and relatable characters. At first I was thrown by the multiple points of view, but I was so drawn in by the characters, it really didn't matter after a while.

I strongly suggest this read, and I cannot write a proper review at the moment because I need to know if there is a sequel and get my hands on it. Review to be completed later!

Dear god (Leigh Bardugo), thank you for this book. Amen.

I got so lost in this book. Heist family realness, a rad magic system, and gay ?!? Sold .

While I continued my yearning for the next Gentleman Bastards, I sank my teeth into this YA fantasy heist book to alleviate the pain. Often poignant and sometimes cleverly written, I'm afraid all I did was give myself another sequel to wait for (Just FYI, I'm pretty sure the only thing this book has in common with Bastards is that it's about thieves that would die for each other).

This is a character driven book, where half the book is about the backstory of the thieves in turn, which is actually a format I love but your mileage may vary. Solidly YA, in that the characters (and prose) are all just a teeny bit precious and everyone's paired up. Surprisingly, the romances didn't bother me too much--but the sheer amount of them was really unnecessary! A pretty quick read with an ending that makes me wish I'd known this wasn't a standalone.
