Do you like fantasy novels? Are you interested in the history of Ireland? Why not combine both?! I enjoyed the first book of this interesting trilogy, especially once I was clear on the pronunciation of the unfamiliar Gaelic names. It reminded me of Queen of the Tearling, except that I could fact check this one on Wikipedia. Once again, I love a book with a map!

An excellently crafted debut of historical fantasy steeped in Irish folklore and mythology. The world Lawless has built in this novel is rich and immersive with a compelling story that keeps you moving at a steady pace. I highly enjoyed both of the FMC’s especially Gormflaith her POV was easily my favorite. I highly recommend checking out this series.

This is a very engaging story with well fleshed out characters and story. A great intro into historical fantasy for beginners because of the fast pace of the book and the clear and vivid writing. Cannot wait to continue with this series
