I can't believe I hadn't read this before, I loved it soooooo so much and it was super addicting! I just ordered The Unexpected Everything and Sand the Date by Morgan Matson because I simply have to read more from this author!

I loved this book, it was cute and funny, but man that ending! It was vague!

Like, do they get together, do they not?! I need closer, you can't just end something so vaguely.

Anyway, this book made me smile the whole time. I want a Frank Porter and I want a best friend like Sloan who you can just drive to their house and they're outside waiting for you to pick them up, because my real life friends suck! They're nothing like the super cute book friends that you desperately want!

Which is why I want friends like that so badly.

On to the plot, so Emily Hughes' friend Sloan leaves, falls off the face of the Earth, so Emily is now trying to look for her. Until, she receives a list in the mail, which is filled with things Emily would never do. She attempts the first one and ends up becoming close friends with Frank Porter, the schools valedictorian and perfect kid.

Emily and her new friends go through the list trying to finish it off so Emily can find Sloan.

This book was truly a wonderful "break out of social anxiety" book. Emily was actually willing to get rid of her social anxiety and try the things Sloan left for her.

Thank you, Morgan Matson for this beautiful novel with a girl who's social anxiety isn't annoying to the point of making me want to reach in the book and destroy her.

I applaud you!

I loved this book so much. It's not a summer romance for the sake of a summer romance, and I love how much Emily grows throughout the book.

For how long this book was, I feel like the ending was just kinda happened quickly. The book was a nice quick read, but seemed to drag during the first half-ish. I did like it well-enough though.

Most unsatisfying ending ever. What kind of friend just disappears without telling their best friend. It just doesn’t make sense. The main character completing all the tasks is kind of fun though.

This book is utterly adorable and Emily is the girl I want to be. Frank is the boy I want to fall for and Sloane is the best friend I want to have. And as all of Morgan Matson's books, this book is filled with impeccable music!

I just recently reread this and its just as fabulous as the first time. The tasks that Sloane has Emily do are equal parts mortifying, hilarious, and sweet.

(Also! Amy&Roger's fans! If you have the hardcover version of this book, you'll find a look into Amy's life now that she's in Connecticut on pages 209-212, midway through chapter six. Adorable cameo!)

5/5 stars for sure!

It was a fast paced read. I just wish the ending had a little more. It was a meh ending.
