Great read. It never stopped. The action, the edge of your seat "what's going to happen now" moments, and of course the couple. I'm trapped in this world until I've read the final book now!

Felt like there was something missing through most of this book. It's an okay read.

DNF at 19%. I should've known better. It's free for a reason.

This is so terribly written I couldn't finish it. I only got to chapter six before throwing in the towel. It's poorly written, no transitions, no sensible logic, forced chemistry, badly written characters, etc. I've read other books by Foster and they weren't as terribly written as this one.

Personally I very much enjoyed this book. Mac has all the necessary attributes of the standard alpha male and let’s face it…he just sounds sexy. His counterpart, Emily is a tough-as-nails attorney with just the right amount of spunk.

As a Falcon agent, Mac lives a fast-paced dangerous life that doesn’t leave much room for a love life. That is… until he meets Emily and begins to reconsider. He’s got the drool worthy body, a smart mouth, and a tender heart that he keeps firmly locked away. He comes across as a real hard-ass but, as the story progresses, you find that most of it is an act to keep his heart protected and his mind focused on staying alive. Ms.Foster does an excellent job creating characters you can connect with. I really loved his inner monologue that occurred throughout the book, it makes his personality believable.

Emily is a tough-as-nails attorney with a whole lot of spunk. As a head strong woman, she doesn’t take kindly to being bossed around and relies on no one but herself. She works very hard at what she does and she is damn good at it. When her prior relationship ends **I won’t tell why, because it is quite heartbreaking**, she fiercely guards her heart…Completely Understandable!! She is also a character that was easy to love. Her past relationships have been real duds and have turned her bitter towards relationships. When she meets Mac and things begin to instantly sizzle, you can’t help but hope the best for them, and hope they can overcome their personal issues.

I felt I was really able to connect with Emily’s character because of her spunky, “I don’t take shit from anyone” attitude. She refuses to let Mac walk all over her in his typical alpha style. At the same time, she relishes in his ability to stay calm, calm her and keep her safe. It was a nice change to see the female character be a strong, self-reliant woman, rather than a weepy mess. Emily relies heavily on her own smarts and abilities to keep her safe, but like many, still needs that alpha male in her life. She is smart, witty and has quite a few good jabs in the book. She keeps you giggling for sure.

I also enjoyed that she could keep Mac on his toes and, ultimately, I believe this is really what makes their relationship so believable. She doesn’t swoon at his feet, but doesn’t brush him off completely either. She holds her own while still relying on him. Their relationship is more than just sexual. While it does get steamy between them, they also grow to find that they enjoy each other’s company and being with each other when they are outside of the bedroom.

I do have to admit that some of the things that happened were a little predictable. However, the relationship that builds between Mac and Em really made up for it in my opinion. You might know what is going to happen, but you can’t help but fall in love with these characters and really root for them.

»All-in-all it was a quick, enjoyable read. At some points, I was wishing I was Em, with a sexy manlike Mac pining away after me, others had me laughing out loud in my work lunch room. It was a fun read and I look forward to more from this author.
