I often hear people complain about the books that they had to read for English class but I rarely ever agree with their grievances, this book being a good example. This story truly altered my brain chemistry and I am so glad that I got the chance to read and talk about it with others in order to fully comprehend it. I love how this book shows human selfishness in groups of power and how they will go to incredible lengths just to keep a social hierarchy in which they live better (even if it’s slight) lives than the people below them. The ending had me hooked and absolutely devastated but also forced me to think about individuality and how hard it is. I also wish to actually read the original book after reading this version. For anyone who is forced to read this for an English class, this book is worth it.
