While it's a good book and informative and considering everything that was happening at the time and it was a child who wrote it. I went into it kind of being expected to be blown away, its a coming of age story.
I do wish to know how much of it was edited and the 'slight excisions' Mr Frank did.

This is a book I think everyone should read.
From the perspective of a thirteen year old Jewish girl hiding in an annex with seven other people and a cat, it is amazing to read the diary of Anne Frank. Anne has such a unique and outspoken personality, where she is not afraid to say what she thinks and write what she feels. Her diary is a sort of person that she speaks to rather than just a notebook. I loved being able to read what her thoughts were and what she was going through. Though incredibly sad, Anne's optimism is something that I think everyone should try to have themselves. She has some beautiful things to say about life, love, and being a teenager during a terrible war against her religion and her people.
It's hard to imagine being in Anne's place, where food was scarce, personal space virtually nonexistent, and life was a secret. She would also give perspectives of her fellow annex roommates. Watching her growth from thirteen years old to fifteen was incredible. Seeing the strength she had and how her diary gave those unable to speak a voice is unreal. Despite all the hard things in Anne's life, she gives such beautiful narration. Thinking of how I wrote at thirteen makes me so amazed at Anne's resilience and words.
All in all, this book should be taught in every middle/high school. It gives perspective on a war that none of us in the modern age have really experienced. It shows how optimism is so necessary in life, and how staying positive really makes all the difference in how your day will be. This book makes you think a lot and that's so important when it comes to reading anything. Anne was brave and strong and one of the most inspiring 13-15 year olds I've ever heard of.

This book is so devastating. Even more so thinking of how devastated Anne would be with how Palestinian children are being treated. She was so close to survival and yet, disgusting violence and bigotry won. Heartbreaking to be living through history repeating itself
Clássico impactante. Não é muito bem um livro contando uma história né, é um diário, um pedaço de uma história tenebrosa e extremamente impactante. Extremamente triste.
