I don't understand why Pirateaba seems so resistant to an overt LGBTQIA+ presence in their books - it's quite clear that
Zel had a thing for Sserys, and at the end with the whole 'wings of my heart' and talking about having a son together
- but they seem determined to keep it from being ... Canonised? Obvious? Idk but it feels weird. The only other reference to anyone LGBTQIA+ is an offhand comment about a goblin and that felt almost dirty. In a world where half elves, gnolls, humans and drakes regularly do the horizontal interspecies monster mash, it seems weird and intentional.

Watch my video review by clicking here.

A book that meanders for quite a while before finally getting to the best plot developments of the entire series, and makes me absolutely ravenous to read the next one.
