I was a bit sceptic when I started reading it as I read some reviews that were about how irritatingly it was that the character was compared to something breakable all the time.
But this was a nice surprise. I read it in one go and really liked the way the disability of the fmc was described. As it was something she had but not her whole personality. I do admit she was compared multiple times to something breakable. But you could read over it easily. I like the build up of the relationship between the main characters and I really felt the struggles she went through at school.
I read my bones, your blood before this as I didn’t know this was connected but it was nice to learn more about some of the characters that are also in the other book.
It a nice easy read with good mystical and a bit creepy aspects. Definitely a recommendation for people who like a romance with fantasy aspects and a mystery.

The idea is interesting, and I really wanted to like this, but the writing is SO pretentious. Nearly everything is repeated at least 3 times in the same sentence, and literally everything is described to death. It was hard to not dnf this

Loved it! Got an ARC and was blown away with the writing!! Also made this hard of hearing reader tear up in places. We need more representation like this! I love that we get a Deaf character in a fantasy novel, I will say I wish it were more of an impact/feature in the storytelling but when the dead are talking I can understand why you don't want to talk about it. I just personally find it cathartic to be spoken about. Love love loved this book!
