would give it 5 but -0.5 because of the “intimate” scenes which i felt was a bit unnecessary. other than that i think this was a good read and provides a good look into the darkest time in our country’a modern history. in the book it says that Laut hopes there will never be another period like the one he went through but if it happens, i hope we all will have the courage they did and fight for a better future.

Bacaan yang cenderung mudah dan page-turner, mungkin karena saya selalu tertarik belajar mengenai sejarah. Buku ini memberikan itu tanpa terasa condenscending dan saya rasa kalau ada yang baca buku ini tapi tetap siding sama pemerintah.. aneh, sih. Miris sekali baca nama Budiman di surat terima kasih.

Such a eye-opening about Indonesia ‘98 riot. Well written by Chudori that makes me interest more to the gloomy history. A must read, especially for Indonesians!
