There's some interesting threads which are given no resolution. Each women seems to represent a different aspect of motherhood - or rather a women's reaction to her excepted role as a women. But there's little resolution.
The idea of stories and the way we interact with others lives on a narrative level is the premise of the book - but again, there's no resolution. It's just a plot device.
It's treatment of domestic abuse, sexual abuse and alcoholism is surface level and again played for entertainment.
It's a good read, well written and a page turner. An easy read for when drunk on a train.

I can understand why this book is being compared to Gone Girl, due to the similar themes of infidelity, missing women, and marital problems. However, there was never a moment in this book where the truth was revealed in a "gasp" moment. It unfolded slowly, and that was that. There weren't any surprises or twists, and the timeline with the different characters was hard to follow at time. I much prefer Gone Girl over this book.

My first thriller! It was super slow at first and it took me a while to get into it but once I got to the juicy part I could not put it down! I couldn’t figure out the book which I thoroughly enjoyed as the plot twist was plot twistin. It was easy to visualise the story and I couldn’t figure picture it in my head. The multiple dates and changes were a bit confusing though
