First book of the year and it...was fine, I guess. It's one of those books that loses a lot of value for me simply because everyone in the book is horrible. It's hard to follow along with any of the narrators when every page is just one cringe after another. The book is fast-paced and it's a quick read, but unless you enjoy hanging out with the worst kind of self-deprecation, I'd suggest taking a different route to London.
Too much hype, too little substance. The writing was ok, but the characters were all pathetic, except for 2...one who obviously did it and the one who didn't and was good/saintly. It picks up at the end, but by then I had solved the "mystery" and just wanted to see how it was resolved. Between 2 and 3 stars, 3 because it picked up at the end.
What the heck did I just read? I never ever thought that this will be the ending. I know it's a cliche thing to say but it's the truth. You'll never see this ending coming. I loved how messy the characters were. They were all multi-layered. I loved how the writer made us think all characters might have done "something". I loved how I never saw this ending coming. I loved reading this book in one sitting.
P. S. Does anyone else feel that English authors make characters feel more real, with more flaws than American writers? I feel American writers just make everything a bit more romanticized and the characters feel more fictional.

Well it took me quite a while to get into this story, but once I did, I couldn't put it down. No spoilers here, just a mention that this book is written from an interesting perspective. I feel like the ending was no big surprise, but really enjoyed the perspective and "who done it" style. :)
