This is a strong contender for one of my favorite book series. I’ve loved living in the world of Grisha

may pick up again but I only liked certain characters and got bored and confused when it was the new character’s pov

I love these characters and this world, but this book was hard to get through. It was a mess—too long and meandering, with one (or two… or three) perspectives too many, and enough plot to fill an entire trilogy. If this had been the first Grishaverse book I’d read, I wouldn’t have read any more. Thankfully I’m already a fan and will read anything Bardugo writes.

★x4 | (A-) 90% | AGES 16+ | Sorry for the late review, but I did finish it like a week ago and forget to update my Goodreads. >.< here it is though.

| Characters - ★x4 | My KINGS AND QUEENS in this shined so bright I am now blind and can’t read any other book with characters like that anymore.

| Storyline - ★x4 | Good. I want to say it’s better than the first, but the first was pretty good. The only thing this book has on King of Scars is the fact that it has an ending...sort of? I’m still not sure about that ending but I’m here for it.

| Writing - ★x4 | Still good, clean, clear and descriptive. Better than I could write, let’s get real.

Should you read this? If you liked the Grishaverse, yes duh. You’ll find a couple of your favorite characters have come back to make you smile. And I did a lot of smiling in this book. I will say, you should read the other books before you read this duology, but you’ll be lost. But that’s a given. ;)

Did Mayu get her broken hand healed? If she did, I completely missed it--that's the reason why I'm rating this 4 stars instead of 5. It seems a rather large omission--perhaps I missed it somehow.

Oh hell yeahhh! I really enjoyed the ending of this series. What a rollercoaster the last 50 pages were

nina, i love you.
