this book was amazing.
this was a very creative concept, and it gave the romance in the book more meaning to it, which i liked very much.
i would say that the ending was kinda rushed, but that doesn’t really matter that much i just chose this book to read since it was available and i needed a sort of “go-to” read when i was bored.
it was fast paced, i should say. i read it in 3 parts.
one thing i absolutely adore about this book is madeline’s “dictionary”, the quotes and just the little filler pages. they are chefs kiss
5/5 this book was amazing

I'm actually glad I guessed the twist in this book! I was really concerned it was going to end with Maddy's death, so when it didn't (even if I guessed how) I was really quite pleased.
Although the concept for the plot doesn't seem particularly ground-breaking, Yoon invites a lot of emotion into the novel, especially through her use of drawings and pictures. This, coupled with the short chapters, made this book easy to read. Sometimes this can be a bit quick to take in everything, but in this case it just made you feel in line with the characters (especially Maddy) as they journeyed through the book.
I did feel like there were a couple of things unexplained that I'd want answers to. Why is Olly so obsessed with climbing? Did something happen? Why doesn't Carla mention her concerns earlier? Why does Maddy love reading?

A cute, quick, and easy read. I enjoyed the plot twist, but felt the ending was a bit rushed. The characters were mostly likable, and the book was very easy to get through. I wouldn't say I loved it, but it was overall a typical teen romance.

I was very surprised by how this book ended up progressing, I don’t want to include any spoilers but I will say the way it went was the only feasible way to tie it all up cleanly. I had no real affinity for Maddy at first, or Olly, I felt as though we didn’t see enough of their true selves, but by the end I sympathized with them heavily. What a stunning chain of coincidences that led to a wonderful outcome. I love when authors include playlists at the end of their books!
