Absolute favorite book as a child. I remember once I set out to write a revised version--the exact same events but in modern English. So many good Biblical truths woven into this story, and while it may be a little heavy-handed with the allegory, I think that's the point. A true classic, and worthy of its position of second-best-seller of all time (after the Bible).

Mandatory reading for any classic completist. The metaphor is strong in this one, and Bunyan continually apologizes for it. He was working without precedent and under interminable conditions, so perhaps he needn't apologize so much!
