So good. I ended up accidentally analysing it cuz it was so good. I love the fact that every character is literally who they say they are. I love this book.
Wow. This allegory is simply breathe taking. I understand why it is considered a classic. John Bunyan does an incredible job at showing the joys and challenges of living the Christian life this side of heaven. If you want to be saturated with biblical truth while having your imagination stirred, read this.
Definitely a classic that everyone should read at least once in their life. Christiana's journey is just ok if you really want to read it but Christians journey is the important one
I often enjoy classic literature written well before my time, but not [b:The Pilgrim's Progress|29797|The Pilgrim's Progress|John Bunyan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1405982367s/29797.jpg|1960084]. I'm trying to think about who I might recommend this one to, and can only think of one of my old Sunday School teachers who loved to philosophize. Almost everyone else, including myself, will find it to be boring. To be fair, I'm sure the book wasn't intended to be appreciated in speeded-up audio form while doing housework and driving around in a car. That's how I do almost all of my books these days. This book is beautifully written and is witty, but those qualities didn't make up for the redundancy and lack of interest.
There are two parts to the book. I finished the first part.

Listened to the Audiobook. It included both Christian's and Christiana's stories. It was my first time reading Christiana's story. I can see why the stories are so memorable for Christians, but I found that it was so vague that I could see it not being very interesting or helpful for people who are not familiar with the Christian faith. Also, I found Christiana's story so boring I struggled to finish it.
I'm not giving any stars because although I know I read this way back in Jr High or so... I can't remember a damn thing about it. I'll have to reread it at some point I guess.
