I DNF'ed this one after it couldn't hold my attention for more than two second intervals for about a week.

5/5 ⭐️

liked the couple and the way the characters from the first book were being portrayed

Eyes Turned Skyward is the second book the Flight and Glory series. I really enjoyed the first book in the series (Full Measures), but this one didn’t have the same spark. It was cute, but I wasn’t that as invested in the main characters relationship.

Paisley Donovan, has a heart condition and since losing her sister to the same condition her parents have been very protective. Despite this, she has decided her bucket list of items must be completed, even if it kills her. When she ends up in a dangerous situation  she was saved by Jagger. Jagger is in flight school and is now captivated by Paisley but he discovers that not only is her father the commanding generals daughter, but her boyfriend is one of his biggest rivals. It’s not going to be easy to navigate his way through this one.

Although  this book was a tad unrealistic at times, I was drawn in. I felt a lot of emotion for Paisley over the passing of her sister. It would be so difficult trying to live her life in her sister’s shadow and also for her parents who are understandably parenting out of fear. I did struggle with some of Paisleys decisions, and imagine as a parent that would have been so tough. I did enjoy Paisley and Jaggers connection but was a little cringe at first, and it made me nervous that she didn’t tell him the truth. Overall I did enjoy it !

So glad Paisley found the will to live for herself. It's always the innocent girl who meets the rough-and-tumble guy that turns things around.
