4.5. Was the writing/dialogue the best? No. Am I a sucker for a good heist, found family, and well thought out plot twist that messes me up for a few days? Absolutely.

When I saw this being marketed for lovers of Ocean 11 I knew it was going to be great (that is my favorite movie), but this blew me away even more than that. These are freaking TEENAGERS doing the most ingenious and heart-poundingly heists on a regular basis! I loved absolutely everything about this book; from the very first scene, to the fabulous characters, the heists in action and all the twists. The ending had my jaw on the floor and at one point around 70% I told my partner to go to bed because I wasn't sleeping until I finished this book. Ross is THE BEST, my favorite fictional thief of all time. She is smart, sassy, and made me laugh even when she was in precarious situations. She leads with her head and is learning to trust her heart a bit more, which after all she has been through, I do not blame her attitude of caution when it comes to other people. The writing was on point with the pacing, atmosphere, drama and emotions and I will now read anything this author writes!

What a fun, thrilling ride! I absolutely adored Ross Quest, our daring heroine. I loved that this book's protagonist is a strong, young black female who is tough to please and hesitant to trust anyone except her family. The "games" that she has to endure during the Gambit are engaging, sometimes adrenaline-pounding, and have a host of tricks up their sleeves. I was rooting for Ross and her teammates while worried about potential double-crossers. The twists at the end of this book were so good, and I cannot wait for the next one. This would have been a five star read for me, but the ending was so abrupt that I feel like I'm still reeling. Now to wait for November for the second one!
Delightful heist novel with betrayal on betrayal and edge of your seat action. A smidge predictable and characters that need a bit more development, but a fun read!
i enjoyed this sometimes and it was a fun concept with good characters but it could’ve been better idk maybe my heart just wasn’t in it or something lmao
