I liked this book. It was an entertaining heist ride. The stakes gradually improved, with a (mostly) engaging protagonist. And a really good twist at the end.
However, this being a YA novel, it beats you over the head with the character traits. Okay, I get it, Rosalyn has trust issues. You don’t need to tell me 10 times that she doesn’t trust anyone. It does that in other situations too, so maybe if it didn’t, it would be better?

So this book was kind of underwhelming because with a concept like that I had pretty high expectations which unfortunately weren't meet. Also I didn't absoluetly love any of the characters and found the romance rather fast. I didn't hate it though and the ending was cool.

The ending was kind of confusing, and I couldn't figure out the plot twist. Wish it explained it more.
While a really exciting premise, I felt like the pacing was all over the place in between actual heists/thieving events, I was often bored and anxious to skip forward to the next one. I also had trouble really connecting with any of the characters.
The actual heists and thievery parts were fun and cool and exciting!

3.5 stars rounded down
So, I got this as an ARC, which I don't understand since the book had been published for a bit prior to me getting it, but whatever? XD
This is a really fun thieving adventure! I can't say the cast was super fleshed out, but they were enjoyable to read about. Each of the various trials were fresh from the other and fun to see the solutions and opponent/teammate interactions.
Not all the twists and betrayals really hit home for me. Some were well set up, but others I felt less invested in. It may fall under the fact one was less set up and more just us constantly being told there was a gut instinct about the thing.
Still fun. Still plan to read the sequel. Still recommend for those who like these type of books. There was just nothing that really made me fired up about this book vs others, you know?
