Objectively it was very good, at least a four star read…just couldn’t get into it the way I usually do with four star reads. Maybe bc I’m in a semi-reading slump? But I felt no passion to compulsively keep reading, just passive enjoyment :(

Was 3 stars, but the more I think about it, the more I love this book and wish I had a sequel to it right now.
Decent book that at only 413 pages still feels to drag on in moments, while other moments in the book are some of the best Fantasy I've read in a while. It took around 120 pages for me to actually get into it, then it rode a really high wave until around page 300. After page 300, the whole story hit the breaks and dragged for many chapters. The ending is good though with some fun reveals.
I liked it enough that I'll read a sequel if one happens.
