Pretty fun book of animal rhymes. Some of the rhymes are pretty unique and clever (lizards and wizards) but others are pretty big stretches (gorilla and pillar).

August 2016 - I hadn't read this one before reading it to Ben, and I wasn't expecting it to be quite this funny! The rhymes are predictable at first, but quickly venture into the ridiculous. Ben is starting to grasp the concept of rhyming, and he could hear how the words sounded alike. This one might make a fun storytime book along with [b:Rhyming Dust Bunnies|5665292|Rhyming Dust Bunnies|Jan Thomas|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1349066973s/5665292.jpg|5836824].

Hilarious, rhyming book with a know-it-all cat instructing a hapless frog on where he can sit. Sounds weird, but is really funny -- great read-aloud.

I chose this because I like Jim Field's art and had never read a book he illustrated. The art islots of fun and super cute. The spread with the wizard on a bike was a genius way to jam all the things the text was saying into understandible picture. My almost-four-year-old memorized which animals sat on which things. He didn't like that the frog got splinters in its bum from sitting on a log. And who would?
