I have heard all the rage about the Great Gatsby, but have never read it school as an assignment nor on my own. So what better introduction to the book than through a graphic novel adaptation!
The art was unique. The colors remind me of watercolor art. The issue I have is with the dialogue and text. I don’t know if it is that confusing in the original text (like how classics tend to be), but the text was difficult to follow at times. By the time I finished reading, I still didn’t know what the book is about nor what is so great about it. Again, I have not read the original text, so this my judgement on what I could understand from the grapphic novel.
Graphic: Emotional abuse, Toxic relationship, Injury/Injury detail, Drug use, Gun violence, Sexual content, and Addiction
