The last of this genre.

“What are you imagining? Your expression is filthy.” “Strangling you. Bare hands.” I can barely get the words out. I’m huskier than a phone-sex operator after a double shift. “So that’s your kink.” His eyes are going dark. “Only where you’re concerned.”

“Serial killer eyes.” I wish I didn’t sound so scared. He looks over my shoulder at his reflection in the shiny wall of the elevator. “I see what you mean. You’ve got your horny eyes on.” He spirals his finger dramatically over the elevator button panel. “Nope, these are my serial killer eyes too.”

Reading about couples that either hate each other or have a really good playful banter it’s becoming my thing. This a was fun, light, cute and easy read. I honestly thought I wouldn’t like this book. And maybe the first couple of pages made it seem a little bit childish but I liked it.

We have that enemies to lovers theme here and even though things worked out like they usually do in these kinds of books, more than once I was surprised at how everything actually happened and the interesting situations our Lucy and Josh found themselves in. Never in a million years would I have guessed this guy was gonna take care of Lucy while she was sick.

I specifically enjoyed that the protagonists lives were not perfect. I have a hard time connecting with characters whose biggest problem is their romantic partner. I loved that this girl was not constantly talking about her body or how good she looks, even though everyone else seemed to think so (Josh, Josh, Josh).

“What’s with the weird eyes? Relax.” “I was thinking how big you are.” I look at our joined hands. He carefully strokes the length of my palm with his thumb. When we look at each other again, his eyes are a little darker. “I’ll fit you just right.”

Hot, right?

Organizing my thoughts and putting into words what I feel reading a book is always hard, but for this one it became almost impossible. Because I was torn between I-like-this-book and I-don’t-really-care-for-this-book.

This book really had a lot of potential and I honestly did get a kick from it. But I think I have mixed feelings about it because I liked the first half so much better than the second. From the moment they arrived at the wedding everything felt rushed and like I needed an epilogue to see what happened after the book ended. Like, things could’ve played out differently, better. I need more details as to how things at work are going to be like and what this new relationship between Josh and Lucy is going to look like. Also, the two big secrets in this novel were pretty easy to figure out and it was kind of annoying to wait for Lucy to catch up with me. I’m thinking the writer could’ve done a better job at giving less clues and hide those things better.

Still, as this was [a:Sally Thorne|2964367|Sally Thorne|https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png]'s debut novel I think I’ll give her other novels a try. It was fun, funny and well written (to a point). Sad to know The Comfort Zone is not out yet.

I just simply don’t have the time nor the energy to read books that are this bad and boring.
Or maybe it’s just me and I’m not really a romance type of girl

I'm finding it very difficult what to rate this book, because I did kind of enjoy it in the end because I'm just too much of a sucker for any kind of romance, but I didn't really like how the hate turned into love... Lucy was the typical too kind girl who couldn't say no and Joshua was just very shitty. He just randomly kissed her even though she didn't want that and was mostly scared of him in that moment, big red flag I would say. Also the things like; his desk was the male version of mine, what does that even mean? The whole two companies thing where one was basically rude and only going for enough sales en was filled with only men and the other was more cosy and going for substance, led by a woman. It just felt all too much of a cliché and while I sometimes am okay with that, this time I apparently wasn't haha.

DID NOT FINISH

I don't usually go for this genre, but I don't know I decided to give it a try through this book, it was such a drag, I honestly couldn't get past 150 pages.
I tried to stick out through the book, but I just can't, I couldn't.
I had to admit the start of the book was good and it had a KDrama factor which made me keep going,
and the Joshua character building and development was good and I loved it but I didnt feel the same way about Lucy, as I turned pages, it got so I don't know the work to describe it, I was afraid that if I complete the book, I wouldn't be able to continue reading for atleast a month, so I gave up quickly.
Summary: I wouldn't recommend this book!.
