Found this to be pretty unoriginal and basic. Every basic romantic trope you can think of it has. Also we get it. Lucy is a teensy tiny little lady and everything about her is dainty and small. Overkill.
Fun, quick read that delivers all the charm you'd hope for in an enemies-to-lovers romance. The chemistry between Lucy and Joshua is electric, and the witty banter keeps the pages turning. Definitely better than the movie adaptation it captures the tension and sweetness much more effectively. If you're looking for a light, feel-good rom-com, this one is worth the read.

Sally Thorne’s The Hating Game follows Lucy Hutton, personal assistant to the owner of publishing firm Gamin, and Josh Templeman, personal assistant to the owner of publishing firm Bexley Books. When the two companies merge, Lucy and Josh become colleagues, and enemies. As far as Lucy’s concerned, her and Josh hate each other. But she comes to find that love and hate aren’t all that different. My favourite character is so hard to choose because I love both Lucy and Josh. My least favourite character is easy. Anthony Templeman. I recommend this book because the movie adaptation has been a comfort film since it came out, so I couldn’t wait to read the book, and I’m so glad I did, it was BEAUTIFUL. I was expecting a cute rom-com like the film but no this book is beautiful. I love how Sally writes and the love between Lucy and Josh felt so deep and pure and I was so emotional reading it. ‘A diamond wet sparkle of light in the corner of his eye is a bullet to my heart. I’ll be able to replay this beautiful, impossible moment in my memory when I’m a hundred years old.’

I love the plot classic enemies to lovers, but I’m not a fan of her writing style in here.
