The first half of the book is good, but I don't know how it contributes to the whole plot. It kind of acts as a small "advertisement" before the readers move on to the "real deal." I would've given this book a 5-star rating if the story starts directly from the ghost seeing and Strigoi attack, eliminating all unimportant details about the field experience. The Royal Court trip was fine, but it can be put in brief. I feel like I skimmed through most of the first half of the book because it doesn't tell much. The second half of the book, however, is amazing. I love that finally the Moroi can join the fight, and how such a tragedy Rose and Dimitri's relationship will be. I can see how Rose and Dimitri's love and understanding have grown. Eddie's character has grown and Adrian becomes one of my favorite characters in the book. I am really looking forward to the next book of this series. :)

This series is truely growing with each book. This was wonderfully heartbreaking, so intense and I hope the next book lives up the promise in this one!

Can't believe I'm giving a Vampire Academy book 4 stars but what can I say? They're addicting. Onto the next one.

I love this series so much. The age gap is kinda weird ngl but other than that it's amazing. The ending was giving iron flame tho.

My favorite book so far. Shadow Kiss helps you to realize the true facts of Lisa's and Rose's bond. Also, a big thing happens with Rose and Dimitri, but it leaves you hanging cause something happens to him afterwards. You'll just have to read it and see. Rly good!!

JANUARY 2014
There is no way I can write a proper review without spoilers and sobbing and slkdhfakdhfksld and stuff along those lines. My feels right now are all over the place. Just know that this series only gets more intense and more addicting.

MAY 2021
I remember how I felt reading this book for the first time. All the emotions, the excitement and then the anger that followed. It's interesting reading this for a second time knowing what's to come. There's a bit of foreshadowing that I didn't notice before. I'm surprised, despite it being seven years, how much of this book (besides the ending) I forgot though. I found myself getting wrapped up in the story and characters all over again. I felt a bit of those emotions that I felt the first time around. Just shows how great this series is. Even after all this time, I'm still as hooked and invested. Looking forward to Blood Promise!
