Oh my God. This ending was everything I could hope for in an ending to a series I adore so much. I'm gonna go cry now.

This is the finale of a quartet. It is a fantasy romance series books 1-2 follow completely different characters book 3 combines the two and adds 2 more POVs. Book 4 picks up where book 3 ended. L. Penelope's Earthsinger series is a master class in contemporary world building. I took a year between the first 3 books and this final one, and yet I still found myself being able to recall the individual characters and their tales. Penelope has a way of using contemporary global issues and applying them seamlessly to a high fantasy world without making it feel too obvious or tone-deaf. Her characters become friends and family and I love how the series ended.

My only wish was that we saw more of Jack and Tai, I loved those two men and their support of their partners, but I also get that there was a lot going on.
