Peanut has their heart set on gymnastics and nothing will stop them...even shoelaces! I thought this was a really sweet book about hard work, teamwork, and believing in yourself!

It's a book with a good message. Peanut uses they/them pronouns but that is not the focus of the book instead it is the goal to be a rhythmic gymnastics. It's about beating to your own drum and making it as your own.

Great book to introduce kids to being gender nonbinary and feeling free to embrace everything that makes you special. With Jonathan Van Ness’s trademark fun and flare!

Jonathan Van Ness, of Queer Eye fame, has created a lovely story about a guinea pig who identifies as nonbinary and marches to the beat of their own drum. This isn’t so much a teaching book as it is a book that seamlessly utilizes the singular they pronoun as a way to normalize it in speech and writing for kids and adults alike. There is no direct instruction here about what it means to use the singular they. it is just used in the story and is therefore normalized.

I adore Jonathon Van Ness and absolutely LOVE this book. Peanut follows their heart and does what makes them happiest with the love and support of family and friends. And I love the use of gender neutral pronouns!

This is so sweet!!! Peanut is such a darling and this book is so wholesome. It really does open up the conversation on gender for parents and kids. Just so sweet.

*read for a class assignment*
Jonathan Van Ness knows how to tell a fun story. As a guinea pig enthusiast, it was especially fun to see this story about a guinea pig based on JVN's childhood pet. Peanut is a spunky, fun-loving character that was a joy to follow. It was great to see nonbinary and they/them representation done so naturally. This book screams to love truest yourself at the top of its lungs and I would expect nothing less from JVN. Definitely recommend having this on any child's and classroom's shelves.
