I mean the story was alright but the characters were immature.  What do you mean you’re still in love with someone you dated in high school? I would have liked to learn about what the creatures were, why they were out in the woods, etc. I spent the whole book hoping Oona the dog made it out, couldn’t care less if the humans died. Some chapters were bloody enough but overall it was lacking for me.

I took a lot of time for things to happen and when they did I was ready for it to be over.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Read like a horror movie and was genuinely terrifying. Highly recommend for those looking for a gory horror story that doesn’t care about your feelings.

3/5 stars. This was such a let down as my first book by this author. Read on Kindle Unlimited, so fortunately I didn't waste money on this story. Very unlikable characters. The husky, Oona, was most unbelievable as she was not leashed (would have run off) and very obedient (not typical in this breed). I had to laugh at this glaring inaccuracy. A little gore but for horror, nothing too wild. I could not care less about this group of immature young adults and wished they'd all died.
