This was a good book, but not what I've come to expect of Ahlborn. This is more a traditional horror and less of the disturbing horror that I'm looking for when I read Ahlborn. I was still happy to read it.

ohhhhh man. this was so bad. at first I was really hoping it was a cheesy-but-fun horror movie kind of bad, but it was just really bad. none of the characters' relationships or motives made sense, and the monsters/plot points/characters never went anywhere. at least the gore started early so it wasn't completely boring, but wow, this is probably the worst horror novel I've ever read.
