This is a charming little book. The author created her story based on a real Victorian set of spectacles with a false nose attached to them, which she saw in a museum (if I remember that right - I'm not looking at the book right now). The story reads like writing a history - it's not a novel, but rather an exploration of a girl's life and how it might have been.
Fascinating story of girl who is born without a nose, and the troubles she faces, and the different things that happen to you, with the ending being very satisfying and the story being well constructed and executed. Beautifully presented and a great read.
