Brief summary - The story of Madeline who lives at boarding school in Paris with nuns goes on a walk with her school mates through the city and ends up at the hospital.
Annotation - This is a great story with a wonderful cadence of the text that is rhythmic and soothing.
Age appropriateness 0-7 years.
Connection to six early literacy skills
Phonological awareness - This is a great read to keep the sing song verse and rhythm of text as a precursor to reading.
Opinion - I really like the Madeline stories, especially for a read laud. Although they are a longer read, I think children really enjoy the cadence of the story.

I loved this one as a girl and gave it my childhood rating.

2024- It's such a simple story. I reread this and was as enraptured by it as ever. I remember as a girl that I would excitedly read this one and flip the pages over and over and reread and reread. I was so in love with this story. I loved the animations. As an adult, it's amusing because the story is so simple, but I loved it, and honestly I still do.
