i'll admit that when i started reading this book i was a little confused because it felt like it was going to be the same tropes and conflict as the previous one, but the one eighty this took was very unpredictable. the feuding families were so believable, truly, that felt like some romeo and juliet star crossed lovers i was not expecting at all. but my favorite part about this story was how the fmc was the one who pursued and fought for the relationship, that groveled, it was refreshing.

First, I thought it was a mm romance because I couldn't figure out which one(Rowan or Cooper) was a girl.
Okay, Rowan lied and didn't tell Cooper about her surname for a long time, which I knew was going to bite her. But after Cooper finds did she give up? No, and I loved it. She was there to answer every question Cooper had and didn't let him back off. She was fire. You go, girl! Rhett became frustrated after some time I couldn't read whatever he wanted to say. I loved that after realizing Cooper loved Rowan he stood by her side every time.

4.5 stars • I saw a snippet of this relationship in a Christmas short story and was so excited to get Cooper and Rowan’s full story since.  I loved that it was them against the world and nothing could falter that.
