A compelling, page turner. I can see how the scenarios in the book, or very similar ones could come to pass. Especially in the political climate of 2025. Well worth reading.

Reading from a person's perspective (me) who knows nothing of war tactics, this book seemed believable. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time (which made it difficult to read at work. Shh don't tell). I am already reading the next book. I find it really interesting how the story is continuing.

The first few chapters were really good, after that I was just reading to find out the end, so I guess that is normal for books but I also would have been fine just googling the ending because I was not that hooked. The characters were all underdeveloped, the writing had many obvious attempts at creating emotion but it never struck anything deeper than surface level. The ending felt unrealistic, and the authors did a poor job of weaving their political agenda into the book (it was very apparent with quotes peppered in all willy nilly) the flow was just off. Lot's of technical military jargon that may or may not be correct but I'd never know anyways. Lots of weird abrupt shifts, like I think they were going for a vague lead up then BAM! but they didn't do the lead up correctly and it just felt underwhelming.

I like the point of the book, it just seems like it was churned out rather quickly so that it could be published while it was still overtly relevant.

I don't know, it gets 3 stars because I was interested, the writing was okay enough to leave me wanting to find out what happens, though I would never have finished the book if it were longer. Also the first chapter or two were really good and interesting.
