This book had me hooked from page one. I did not stop reading until I was finished and realized it was no longer light outside. Brielle wakes up in the hospital to realize, her memory is gone, her brother is dead and she’s the only one who has the answers. No pressure right? To make things worse she isn’t allowed to be reminded of her memories as it make ruin the case. So she enlists the help of Spencer, her brothers best friend and investigative reporter to help see if he can help bring back her memories. Did I mention she’s always been in love with Spencer? What could go wrong right? As she starts to remember things and feelings start to get involved and some things fall apart. Will she be able to find out who took her brothers life from her? Does Spencer have feelings for her too? I will not spoil this book, but I will say it is an absolute MUST read. The way Corinne Michaels writes and portrays emotions, makes you feel like you’re going through them as well. I am looking forward to the next book in the series already.

I hated the third act "wait, I can explain!" drama that happens in every romance. It's just overused and it didn't make sense that Brielle immediately believed Spencer was lying to her - she's known him pretty much her whole life so she knows his nature and that just doesn't fit into it.
Apart from that, I liked the amnesia plot and the mystery element. Not a lot of spice in this one.

I feel bad but this did not hit as good as I thought it would. The pacing of the book was strange and the dialogue was very robotic too - sometimes the things the main couple said to each other felt too flowery for the moment or the next moment it was completely juxtaposed in tone.
It’s a shame because the plot was super intriguing to me from the initial synopsis but I just think it wasn’t developed/set out in the best way.

When Brielle wakes up in the hospital with no memories or recollection of the last 3 years and what happened to her brother she enlisted her brothers best friend, an investigative journalist Spencer to help her go back to the beginning. When trying to find out what happened she just finds more and more questions but little answers. Her and Spencer grow closer and she wants to act on the crush shes had for him since she’s little. But with her brother’s killer on the loose and a maybe engagement she can’t remember, is it better to live in the present or go back to figure out her past.
I really enjoyed this story. The amnesia trope is a new one for me and this author is also new to me. I liked both Brielle and Spencer separately as we start out from Brielles point of view as she tries to piece her life back together. She is a strong character who wil Leo anything to bring justice to the one man she loved most her brother Isaac. Spencer starts as a mystery but he would do anything to help Brielle connect the pieces while trying to tell her the truth right away.
The suspense aspect was good and I enjoyed all the connecting side characters and their roles in protecting and helping Brielle. The romance between Spencer and Brielle is one that will stick with you. That even if your brain can remember that your heart does. Spencer is her safety and place she can open up in a world that seems very unsafe for her.
I did get frustrated at some aspects because they were slightly unrealistic but as I continued the story I appreciated that we weren’t told everything from the beginning and we were able to find out things the same time Brielle does.

Corinne Michaels’s newest story, Help Me Remember, grabs you from its very first chapter. It’s everything you love about her storytelling: angsty, impeccable in its details, and engaging. Help Me Remember launches us into a new series from Michaels, the Rose Canyon series. If this book is any indication, Michaels will have another popular series under her booklist belt.
The story follows Brielle. As the book begins, Brielle awakens in a hospital bed with various injuries and a lack of her most recent memories. She also awakes to the death of her brother, Isaac. Additionally, in order to protect the efficacy of the investigation, her family and friends won’t give her details about her past. Devasted by the loss of her brother, and wanting to find answers, she enlists the help of his best friend, Spencer, to investigate her life. She has always loved him from afar, so her feelings of connection to him don’t seem out of place. As the story progresses, they find clues as to the person who killed her brother and assaulted her, but she also finds herself falling deeply for Spencer. When portions of her memory return, however, she can’t believe what she remembers and it threatens to derail her future.
I love an amnesia story within a romance story. It drives you further into the book as the protagonist gains their memories bit by bit. If written well, the pacing of the book is fluid, and that is definitely the case with Michaels’s story. Brielle’s memories are revealed at moments when you think the journeys of her hero and heroine might derail or slow. Little by little, she pulls you deeper into their story. I hated to put it down to adult because their story is compelling. Even more, the villain isn’t obvious until it’s revealed. Then, the story takes on its normal progression into the happy ending for her main characters.
Brielle is a compelling FMC. There are moments in her journey when Michaels could fall into traps, namely when Brielle struggles with memories of her former boyfriend. At first, I was worried that Michaels would lead us astray for much of the story with that storyline. Thankfully, she resolves it quickly and focuses us on the developing relationship between Brielle and the MMC. The incremental development of that allows for a building of chemistry that entices the reader and makes it believable. My only criticism is Brielle’s response to the revelation of her love interest. For me, it seemed a bit manipulative of Michaels. Any long-term reader of Corinne Michaels knows her penchant for creating angsty stories, and this feels like a move on her part to re-create the angst of the earlier stories on her booklist. And frankly, I didn’t think this story required it at the level it was crafted. Now, having read many of her former books, the angst of Help Me Remember is tame. I simply believe that the general suspense built throughout the romance could have been enough to connect emotionally with her readers. Again, my opinion, so take it for what it’s worth.
I’m excited for the Rose Canyon series books to come. The next one is teased a bit at the end of Help Me Remember, and it promises some second chance romance, a trope that Corinne Michaels creates with aplomb. If you’re a fan of romantic suspense with a side of angst, you’ll love her newest book, Help Me Remember.

I will say it took me a couple of chapters to get into the book but that's probably just because of my slump but after that I really enjoyed it. The relationships between the characters was my favorite thing you can really tell how much they love each other. Spencer & Brielle I love them sm they were so cute. That ending tho. I am so excited about Emmet & Blakely story I think they're gonna be my fav.

To say that Corinne Michaels writes emotionally charged books would be an understatement, and Brielle and Spencer’s tale is one packed with emotion. Help Me Remember is a beautiful romance that’s emotional, heartbreaking, swoony, sexy AF and romantic as all get out. And a fantastic, intriguing twist on romance.
Everything about this romance felt unique and heartfelt and sexy and wonderful, and it’s one that shouldn’t be spoiled! I read it in one sitting and couldn't get enough. I love books like this, when obviously romance plays a huge role but there is a whole other storyline along with it. In the case of this book, memory loss, murder and suspense are at the heart of this story.
Brielle and Spencer’s love story is so unique. Their obstacles will make you hurt, make you hope, make you question what you feel from one moment to the next because you feel everything they feel. You can tell Corinne Michaels has put her heart into every word of this story. As always, she takes the time to tell the best story she can and it pays off in spades. I also loved the added suspense element that kept me glued to the pages, desperate to know what was going to happen. Definitely an intoxicating page tuner from start to finish! And I just can't ever get enough of Corinne Michaels words. Fantastic.

The story was good, I just never connected with the MCs, I felt like the whole thing was just weird. I pushed through the book because I want to read the third book in this series, I like to know the back story and mostly I don’t like to DNF.
