The first essay had me in tears. Very strong start. I found her very approachable about motherhood, and often profound.

Thoroughly enjoyed this collection of personal essays on motherhood, which I listened to in one day while walking my 6-week-old outside in the Ergo—totally fitting!

Some of the stories about middle age were relatable, and I laughed aloud when she talked about the “underwear sandwich” of postpartum and reading to her son without paying one iota of attention to the words. However, the rest just made me realize I’m not her best audience (though I had assumed I would be as a middle-aged mom). It’s been twelve years since I had my youngest child (while she had her first and only at 40), and she was privileged to have both nighttime nannies and a full-time day nanny as well. Lastly, I like my reading to be pure entertainment without a dose of political commentary on the side.

Very VERY relatable.

A great companion while holding my sleeping bebe. Realllllt had me chuckling and inadvertently shaking her. Recommend to friends who are moms (can’t say mom friends yet).

So very very relatable.

So funny - I love her style of writing so much - hilarious, self deprecating and smart! Laughed out loud on the train as I read certain lines. Will have to read more by her.

Memoir, essays on motherhood with young son, Fearless necklace. Thanks, Lilly!

I enjoyed her first book of essays but this one was not for me.
