I said in my review of Klein's previous memoir/essay collection that I thought this book would hold a lot more for me personally, and I was right. While [b:You'll Grow Out of It|27170141|You'll Grow Out of It|Jessi Klein|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1462261735l/27170141._SX50_.jpg|47207022] was at times crass and almost wholly about things that I could not remotely relate to, this book got me a little teary-eyed in a few spots and was such an honest confessional of what motherhood does (both good and bad) to a woman and her sense of self. I won't lie--Klein is still crass in this collection but it's a little less in-your-face and a little more "I am claiming the right to be an adult who says adult things!" which is very, very relatable.

audiobook memoir/essays. funny, relatable, some people would think crass but not me. she is a new mom, privileged and has money. "real talk" parenting, mid life. maybe sydney and annamaija would enjoy this
As a woman who has dealt with hair loss for 13 years, so many of the emotions and experiences she describes were spot on. There were several absolute mic drops in regards to motherhood sprinkled throughout the book as well.
All of them were great but the last page of Little Books squeezed my heart and made me tear up. Lovely.

Fine. Not life changing. Another “funny memoir” that just didn’t do it for me, mostly just made me feel tired and not want to have another kid.
Though the idea of making little pictures books to help Elahi make sense of upcoming changes/adventures was great!

I almost didn’t read this because of a couple reviews I read on here. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to those reviews. A great book that is incredibly relatable if you have/had a high needs or difficult baby. I wish I had read this book years ago. It is somehow comforting to know that other people struggled in the same ways, with things that a lot of people out there minimize or can’t seem to understand.
A funny collection of essays about middle age and motherhood that were utterly relatable and easy to listen to narrated by the author on audio. A sketch comedy writer for SNL (among other things), the author shares stories about body image, self-love (even when your hair is falling out) and trying (and failing) to do it all as a working mother. Worth a listen if you enjoy motherhood memoirs told with humor and heart.
