The ending is the only thing that saved this for me
I don't know if this is actually a spoiler but there is literally so much smut, I was tired. To the point it was every 3 chapters and I was starting to lose sight of the actual plot

I have so many emotions about this book. It was definitely a roller coaster. I was so mad at first and was happy but confused around page 80. I loved seeing Poppy and Casteel grow together. I wasn't expecting that ending though. I'm very interested to see what happens next though.

A lot of this book seemed like "filler". The beginning had a lot of suspense, and then it seemed to just...mosey along until the last few chapters which were explosive. I thought that this was a trilogy, and curious to see what book 4 is like. Obviously, there is a lot of resolution needed, but I don't think it will require 500-600 pages unless there are some epic developments. A novella? Sure. But I see more filler surrounding the conclusion. Fingers crossed the series ends with a bang!

This was intense and fun! So many twists and turns in the plot and also some really beautiful moments. And spice on every other page! How can you not be in love with Cas and Kieran and Poppy?

Cas tries to take Poppy home to Atlantia but they are repeatedly attacked by Atlantian rebels that won't see Poppy as their queen. Poppy is led to believe she is Malec's daughter which explains her powers and makes her a diety. She and Cas are trying to avoid taking the crown, but as the plot thickens, they realize that the only way to prevent the war is for them to stop it at Queen and King.

They are introduced as the new monarchs by no other than Ms Willa Collins (!!!!!!!!!) - my favorite part....

They learn that the land of the gods is real and they travel there to wake Nyktos and ask for his help. It is then she learns that he is a primal god and she meets a draken.

They plan to negotiate with the Blood Queen and get scooped on their sneaky early arrival giving Ileana the advantage, but not before they discover the caged cave cat that turns into a man at Poppy's touch... Then the whole story explodes and we learn so much.... Ileana is Isbeth and not a vampry, Malec was a God which means Poppy is a God, the revenants are these immortal creatures that can be beheaded and grow their head back, Malik is alive and cozy with the Blood Queen, Isbeth had planned marry Poppy to Malik to aquire Atlantia, Eloana poisoned Isbeth and killed her son which is what started the war. And then Ian gets killed and Poppy loses it and then the Blood Queen almost kills her so Cas offers himself up for her life.... So Cas is now a prisoner of the blood queen again.... So devastating.

So THEN, Poppy goes back to the land of the gods to ask for the help of the draken where she learns that she is not the daughter of Malec, but of his twin (the cave cat!) and she needs to bring him home to Ileesium. She also learns that a god can't die if entombed (Malec). So she enlists the help of the draken as their fire is the only thing that can kill the revenants and she sends a message to the blood queen.... Then head of king jalara...

Whew!! Whirlwind ending!
