Second time reading ACOTAR and my first experience with the graphic audio. My opinions on the characters has definitely changed and I honestly liked the story more the second time around. My first read, I didn’t get the hype. I thought the story was boring until we got under the mountain. Now, I see what we’re building toward and appreciated all of the character development along the way.

this cements that im not a romantasy girly. mc kills a wolf who was a fae and gets sentenced to live her life in the fairy world, in a lavish mansion with a rich handsome powerful fairy. and then  a whole lotta nothing occurs, descriptions about land and home and pointless shallow conversations between mc and the love interest. every interaction seems forced and awkward and uninteresting with zero chemistry, but they still fall for each other?

there's an interesting plot hook about some sort of blight sapping away the magic in the land which eventually would spread into the human world. worst part? the whole fucking story is explained through exposition. just a long ass conversation spoon fed to the main character. all tell not show.

the mc has everything done for her or someone has to come recuse her, besides one moment in the trials towards the end of the novel. even after learning her role in everything she fails utter the words at first opportunity. OH AND for some fucking reason (i admit this is a peronal nitpick) shes CONSTANTLY wondering what it would be like to paint the texture of the fae people. she paints maybe once in the book but it's always brought up???

idk what the appeal with this books is. maybe it's the age of the book because everything seemed so cliche. tell me what im missing cause this was awful to get through.

I enjoyed this book and actually didnt think it was boring tbh

But honestly things were just a little too convenient i think

Like the rules of the curse were SO SPECIFIC and how did the lady know Feyre hears those EXACT WORDS about Tamlins heart???? Like

And matter of fact how did she put that together because HUH????? She's mostly dumb so idk how that worked out in her brain
